Getting A Breast Pump Through Kaiser Permanente Insurance
PMSI is proud to be the exclusive contracted provider for consumer grade pumps for Kaiser Permanente of WA patients! Navigating the authorization process can be tricky, which is why we take care of all that for our patients. When itβs time, our team will apply for authorization directly with KPWA and handle any and all logistics surrounding the process. Our job is to understand the current insurance fee schedules (what they pay) and with that information, provide specific pump options based on those numbers. Some policies will even allow the mom to select a βdeluxe upgradeβ if she desires something outside of standard coverage. If you qualify for a deluxe upgrade, you will be given a list of those options when itβs time to select your pump. Many breast pump companies out there will limit options to βstandard onlyβ however we feel that having more choices is better! Thatβs the PMSI difference. Remember, Kaiser of WA now allows moms to receive their pump 30 days prior to EDD. Letβs get started now!

When can I order a breast pump? Each insurance provider determines when a mom can receive her pump, though customarily it's universally covered up to one year postpartum. You may apply for a pump at any time during your pregnancy and we will supply the pump according to your provider's specifications. For example, Kaiser Permanente of WA allows a mom to receive her pump up to 30 days prior to expected delivery date.
